Termite Homeowner Recommended Checklist
Having these conditions can void the Termite Damage portion of your contract. Homeowner maintenance is needed to help prevent and control termites.
– Keep all dirt below the foundation of the slab and piers so that 2-3 inches are visible for inspection and moisture reduction.
– Keep tree branches and plants from growing above or on the structure. Plants touching the structure and vines growing on the home are included with this.
– Keep firewood, wood, and form boards away from direct contact with the soil near the structure.
– Eliminate standing water under the home or against the slab. Ensure proper drainage.
– Increase ventilation in crawl spaces to limit moisture.
– Inspect and eliminate or replace any wood rot in the home, windows, door frames, etc.
– Inspect and address all cracks in the foundation of the slab. Disclose any cracks or slab additions to us.
– Call us if you disturb treatment or stations around the perimeter of the structure. We must retreat.
– If we ever note down a conducive area, please call us to state that you have rectified the area. Not all areas can easily be fixed, and some areas may require you consult with a contractor, landscaper, or home inspector.usus
